I agree that modeling hydraulic systems can be tricky because of fluid mechanics involve. Also, both static and dynamic conditions have to be considered when designing with hydraulics because of their steady state and transient motion behaviors related to the system application their being used in. This speaks to the importance of facilitating the development of hydraulics as part of an overall system architecture and not separately from the rest of the components. I think it is a useful addition to the development environment.
