There are certain Chinese  organisations or companies who have decided to start their opeations or manufacturing in US in order to save the cost Lenova is one of the biggest example  , Apple decided to assemble one of its MAC computer lines in US,Airbus will build new JetBlues in Alabama and so many others .

Manufacturing in US has rised since last few years the basic reason behind this is that now manufacturing in china has become expensive as compared to few years back so the US industrialist who have set their factories in China are now moving them towards US because according to their calculation manufacturing in US will cost only 5 percent more as compared to china.

True, the workers would be entry level, but as manufacturing ramps up the skill set could be 100% in three years.

As jobs have moved overseas, fewer people have needed to learn the basic skills needed to produce a quality product here. It will be very difficult to move production back to the states if you can't find qualified workers. Pushing buttons on an automatic machine is not a true skill. We need people with skills that can build the automatic machines. Finding a capable machinist or welder is becoming extremely difficult.

I think it is growing. But with fewer and more higher skilled jobs replacing lower skilled manufacturing jobs.
