I'm not sure how much the robot design adds if the goal is being sympathetic or kind as they speak to a person. Interesting approach.

That *is* funny, Lou. This robot doesn't have enough brains, let alone self-awareness, to even conceive of the idea. We're a very long way from sentient machines.

Chuck, doesn't this remind you of C3PO from Star Wars?  Isn't this scary?  What if the robot tried to take over the ISS?  There was no mention of the three laws of robotics.  Is there a fail-safe mode?
