It is interesting to see how many concepts in Star Trek have come to fruition in the 21st century. But just like Captain Kirk's dissatsifaction with knowing that no matter how many times he jumped his horse over a large chasm, he would be okay - I think this technology may have value in certain applications but may not be as captivating as the developers hope. We may become desensitized to electronic gadgetry so that it no longer fascinates...
Very informative Cabe. This will be a significant development when commercialized and the uses are many. It will be great when holograms are designed into the "mix". I can see several medical applications also. It's very nice to see this type of research being conducted and in the private sector of our economy. Great post.
Cabe, I watched that video...that girl with the book...sooo cool. It's better than the pop-up books I grew-up with! I was just glad to see her reading an actual book! I bet one day you open a book and it just pops-up a 3D halogram with motion. Great article Cabe.
Hey Cabe, interesting story. It will be particularly interesting to see if it catches on. Might be a tad complicated. You never know what might catch on. Stories where you get to determine the end from a number of choices did not catch on with kids. However, the iPad took on immediately woith kids, and there was no instruction necessary.
