Thanks for archiving these presentations!

Good class and presentation ... a nice supplement to the ISM Band class

Mil spec ZigBee??  (slide 27 - on audio)

Yes, got experience with both - BT and WiFi

Iron

Intimately familiar with the networking model...

Iron

Better late than never...

Iron

Great to have access to the recorded sessions!

Iron

Taking the class offline...

Iron

Hello,

I missed the live lectures last December, but it's great to be able to catch up with the archives. I'm very interested with the security aspects of Zigbee.

Thanks

Iron

I'm familiar with this 7 layer model

No experience with ISM Band

Iron

Great presentation, very informative session

Iron
Thank You, Charles.
Iron

Experience in 900Mhz ISM

Iron

Very familiar with ISO model

Iron

Thanks Charles, very good session

Iron

Good info! Thank you, Charles and Rob!

Iron

On slide 6, how do you square up the fact that Zigbee is supposed to be low power, and yet the radio is listening to all the channels all the time for collision avoidance?

Iron

Thanks again all for attending!!! Thanks Rob for hosting - and thanks Digi-Key and Design News for bringing these classes about!!!

Iron

http://standards.ieee.org/getieee802/download/802.15.4-2011.pdf is where you can register and download the latest IEEE standard for your viewing pleasure

Iron

Yes quite familiar with both models.  You do have the right polarity :)

Iron

Thank you! Looking forward for more great sessions...

Thanks Charles, so the fee (Licence ?) is only for commercial use.

Iron

Thank you for giving this lecture.

Iron

Again, I am available for consulting and training - my email is c.j.lord@ieee.org

Iron

I will talk about sniffers and protocol analyzers Friday - they are CRITICAL to development and testing!!

Iron

BEacon allows teh pan coordinator to do the bulk of transmission and network upkeep in a star network. Is VERY power efficient for the endpoints, as the xmit / receive is minimized

I admit that I don't know DigiKey's current offerings on development, but will have the answers Friday at the session on develoment!

To develop something for in-house, educational, or personal use, there are NO FEES.  Only if you are going to sell something

For more info on ZigBee, go to ZigBee.org or tune in the next three days!

Iron

BT Low Energy competes with 15.4 on point to point apps - cannot do tree or mesh.

Most common app so far is in commercial building automation.  Not a lot of consumer apps out yet, but a lot with 15.4 (not ZigBee)

Iron

Can you say anything to the fee part, or provide a web reference

Iron

Are there any Zigbee sniffers and /or  protocol analyzers are available on the market ? If yes, what is recommended and what is their price range?

Question re interference - because of the nature of DSSS, spot interference doesn't affect the receiver as much as say BT or wifi.

A Microchip class - possible! I do teach a class (multi-day hands-on) on Freescale currently

Iron

Thanks all for attending - I will hit the questions in just a minute. Stand by!

Iron

Does Digikey (or others) sell development kits?

Can you explain a little bit about Beacon? Thanks!

Iron

great info. thanks Charles.

You did a very good lecture. Thx.

Iron

Thank you Charles & Rob

Please do list the site you mentioned about the network standards

Iron

Thks Charles, Rob, Digi.

Iron

A nice byte sized intro to the protocol aspects. Thanks.

Do I need pay for my small Zigbee sensor work on my machine? I don't understand this money thing.

Iron

Hi Charles,

What is the most widely used application for ZigBee today?

Pat Fasang

Iron

Thanks again for the presentation.

Iron

How does Zigbee compare with Bluetooth Low Energy?

Iron

Thank you, so much! Great info

Iron

Nice job.  Looking forward to rest of the classes.

Iron

Thanks for this great presentation!  Is there any chance of an in-depth MicroChip MiWi P2P/MiWi/MiWi PRO course?

Iron

Thanks Charles, Rob, & Digi-Key!

Iron

What's next after ZigBee- ZigBee + ?

Iron

Thanks for the information.  I was always a bit confused about the difference between ZigBee and 802.15.4.

Iron

Charles, Thank you for today's lecture.

Iron

Thanks Charles for the presentation.

Iron

Great information !  Thanks
