We removed the belt guards because every time some leaned against them the belt would come of the pulley. This way if some one leans on the belt they get burned and cut and quickly move away without slowing down production.

Ok, who forgot to feed the hamsters? Until they eat, they refuse to turn their wheel, and no work gets done till they do.

Somewhere in this factory, a Six Sigma project is just waiting to happen.

What? Of course we're ISO 9001 certified.

This place is belted in tighter than my old ladies corset

or

The pulley on that drive belt wobbles more than my wifes butt

or

The last time I saw this much belting, was at the New Years Swingers convention.

or finally

Hey Stanley, that primary drive belt looks like the same size as the one you need for your wifes bottom belt weight reducer machine.

For industrial control applications, or even a simple assembly line, that machine can go almost 24/7 without a break. But what happens when the task is a little more complex? That’s where the “smart” machine would come in. The smart machine is one that has some simple (or complex in some cases) processing capability to be able to adapt to changing conditions. Such machines are suited for a host of applications, including automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, computers and electronics, telecommunications, consumer goods, and so on. This radio show will show what’s possible with smart machines, and what tradeoffs need to be made to implement such a solution.
