SOPA attacks the Internet to make everybody pay for content
Bluebee   1/19/2012 6:11:04 PM
Seems to be Congress is working on a new law, that changes Internet so much, that WIKIPEDIA decided, to black the English WIKIPEDIA page for 24 hours.

That was Yesterday.

Today I got more news about the SOPA - Stop Online Piracy Act - to me it looks like something like a McCarthy era remake.

I just visited
www.OneCandleintheDark.blogspot.com  reading that the lobbying SOPA supporters earned millions of dollars with distributing software to download copyrighted material.
And now they are criminalizing it.

And it is an attack against free speach, as you will see.
When Egypt shut down the Internet last spring, there was  an uproar here in the States. Now SOPA in effect is cutting off the Internet as we know it. The Internet has to stay a room of free speach! Imagine a World Without Free Knowledge!

To understand, see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFf5DXdTCYk  - Stop SOPA now.

There is a report about a case that United States authorities demanded a Student in Great Britain to be deported to the United States because of Copyright infringement by having links to copyrighted films and TV shows. The Student had to be bailed out from jail by his aunt paying several thousand £.

Seems to be there is more to come!
