Do the static-dissipative properties of ABS plastic relate specifically to the ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)? That is, are there other materials which could also be used or is that why one uses ABS?

ESD properties can be applied to a number of diffeent plastics through special formulations. In this case, the treatment was applied to ABS because it's a widely used, low cost engineering plastic and conforms to the Fused Deposition Modeling technology developed by Stratasys.
