Xandem - Very interesting system and nice web site

A very interesting product and I am going to be interested in watching developments.  I have designed several security intrusion systems for industrial use (e.g. protecting pump rooms from unauthorized intrusion) and it has always been a bit of a struggle fitting in standard motion and IR sensors so you get coverage, etc.

Although obviously still a product in it's infancy, there are a lot of interesting ideas percolating in my brain at the moment. Cost may certainly be a problem, lack of suppliers, etc but the potential for easy installation, configuration at a central location, etc are very intriguing.

Xandem's web site is very well done, by the way.

Overall I've got this in my 'keep an eye on it' folder.

I wonder if it has the potential to be used to see inside components as part of an assembly line quality control system.

Rob, the Xandem website lists some potential applications. Most of them fall into the security/surveillance category you already identified. The other area was building automation.

Interesting technology. I'm curious about what the applications for this would be. Surveillance is an obvious one. That and security.
