Interesting article.  I didn't know that these types of systems require such technical complexity. I now have a much greater appreciation for this type of equipment.

We've had the technology long enough, I am surprised a system like this wasn't already invented. The article makes me think that every water drilling instillation is an anchored disaster waiting to happen. I hope to read more about the development of this robot and how it will make drilling a safer endeavor. I am sure the world would hate to see another Deepwater Horizon event. \
