Teardown: Amazon Fire Phone

Before we jump out of the frying pan and into the Fire Phone, let's take a look at its fiery specs:
- 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, with 450 MHz Adreno 330 GPU
- 4.7' IPS LCD display, with 1280 x 720 resolution at 315 ppi
- 32 GB or 64 GB storage with 2 GB RAM
- 13 MP rear-facing camera, along with a 2.1 MP front-facing camera (or as LG calls it, the Selfie)
- 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, up to 300 Mbps with channel bonding + Bluetooth 3.0 wireless technology
- Dynamic Perspective sensor system with invisible infrared illumination, gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, barometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor

Saji, private equity investors are very much concerned about their retune on investments. So without any assured ROI, nobody going to continue with such investments.

Saji, outsourcing means savings to the companies, so obliviously it may outsource to other countries where work quality is at par and manpower cost is less.

As far as the margins are concerned, I consider the inflated price companies quote comes down tremendously when a new version is introduced. Indicating the profit margin.

@far911: Exactly. If you are hiring permanent SE's you should get the best available for you. Anyway +1 for hiring and making permanent SEs

@far911: Yes true plus they can even merge with some other smaller scaled company for this operation itself if they feel they do not have the confidence to go ahead

These companies are big enough to afford top engineers and provide safety to the consumers.
