Excellent post Jurg--very informative.  We have associated with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga the SIM Center.  This group of very talented individuals performs CFD investigations as needed by clients obviously wishing answers to problems with components and assemblies. It's a fascinating technology that has allowed the transformation of product development.  If applied properly, the days of waiting on and on for that first prototype are over.  There is also great predictability possible with the software packages.  Modifications and design changes are possible before the first prototype is even made.  Again--great post.
