Just make sure when using them that you don't need to remove them for any reason. They're a pain and have a habit of marring the finish of the metal.

Great article and thanks for the detailed information.  I especially appreciate the discussion about specifying the correct type of stainless steel fastener material when using 300 series stainless steel sheets.

Excellent post Leon.  I have used Penn Fasteners in times past and they have always been completely acceptable and reliable for the intended use.  The support I received from Penn was excellent very timely.   Your nine (9) fundamentals are extremely important and I certainly appreciate the list. I would like to highlight one specifically--always test the assembly and try to provide information needed to determine reliability of an assembly; i.e. mean-time to failure (MTTF) and mean-time between failure(MTBF).   I feel this is absolutely critical.   Great work and many thanks.

Robots are getting more agile and automation systems are becoming more complex. Yet the most impressive development in robotics and automation is increased intelligence. Machines in automation are increasingly able to analyze huge amounts of data. They are often able to see, speak, even imitate patterns of human thinking. Researchers at European Automation call this deep learning.
