Complete demo of biomaterials

I really like the fact that not only does this concept car replace as many parts as possible with bioplastics--kind of like igus' concept car does with its plastic bearings and other parts--but it also runs on biofuel.

Agreed. That's really interesting.  I wonder what the "new car smell" is like.

Ann the material you mentioned are simply superb for the mother nature too, i have given some detail about UPM Formi . I would like to add about UPM Grada too,

UPM Grada is a new thermoformable wood material for the form pressing industry. Grada technology revitalises the forming of wood with heat and pressure and opens up new opportunities for designs not achievable with traditional methods. UPM Grada's unique forming properties enable high quality and ecological designs which are also visually appealing.

Plus UPM Grada material is safe to use and it has a long life in use, after which it can be safely recycled or burned as a carbon source for energy.

UPM Grada revolutionises form pressing, cuts labour costs and enhances production efficiency easier than ever before. UPM Grada is an efficient solution for manufacturers looking for ecologically sustainable business.

The thermoformable plywood like material is not really anything new.  VanDresser in Fostoria Ohio has been making interior body panels from a thermoformable wood product using wood fiber, a small amount of recycled textile fibers, and a heat flowable bonding agent for years.

The product is made into a formable sheet that can be stamped with a hot press and allows areas of variable density.

When petrolium prices are up, it does really well, when they are down, not so well.
