Good write up, as selecting the wrong cable specification could lead to costly disasters.

When working on the ATF Advance Tactical Fighter F-22 we researched self shielding.  So the number is 18 twists per foot.  However the gauge does not have to get to be very small before the wire is too and stiff to twist.  Shielding was very important to this stealth aircraft.  My mentor researched wire impedance.  The theory was developed and proven in the 1930 - 1940.  What are the components of wire — cable impedance?
