I agree, far911. Seems like a natural for portable products that need to get to market fast, which is probably true for almost all portable products.

@Charles: I am not trying to be a smart alec, but does faster to market include time to debug. Will this style chipset help eliminate some of the start-up bugs that plague many new devices or will it just shorten the time between concept and problem solving?

Tool_maker, here's an answer for you from Microchip:

"Yes, debug is faster because the analog is now contained in the PIC and is completely visible by the debugger.  You can query the registers of the analog directly, without relying on code execution to assist with the debug.  Also, the starter kit helps with this as it comes with pre-written code that can be leveraged into the application.  This reduces development time and minimizes the chance for bugs in the code."
