Current technology advancements have brought down the costs of 3D scanning and printing to achievable prices for some companies and businesses. The days of $20,000 machines may be coming to an end. (maybe 20k if the machine is enormous.)

Keep an eye on Kickstater and Indiegogo, the desire for these types of devices will drive innovation.
