The Kelch Division of Bemis Manufacturing Co. has opened a 1,600 ft2 product development and testing lab to aid in the development of fuel containment products such as tanks, caps, and gauges. The lab contains systems that target the development of products that come in contact with fuel. These include a proprietary system that indicates when environmental stress cracks appear. Kelch plans to use its product development lab to help OEMs meet proposed and pending standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB).
