Series 9030 Ethernet calibrators from Pressure Systems Inc. are designed for online calibration and verification of pressure scanners and other aerospace applications requiring accurate measurement and control of pneumatic pressures. "Applications include testing the pressure of turbine engines in test cells and calibrating electronic pressure scanners used in flight testing," says Mats Dahland, an electrical engineer with Pressure Systems Inc.
The calibrators interface with the company's NetScanner system or with any pressure-measurement device that requires periodic calibration of pressures. They control pressures between vacuum and 100% of pressure from 1 to 750 psia. "These pressure controllers are also really fast," says Dahland. "They set pressure within five seconds. An internal 32-bit microprocessor corrects for zero, span, and non-linearity errors of the internal pressure standard. The microprocessor also performs digital temperature compensation. Modules communicate via standard TCP/IP communications protocols. The calibrator operates on 24V dc input power.
Series 9030 calibrators are part of the company's NetScanner system that uses Ethernet 10 Base-T protocols for communication between modules. Pneumatic and electrical connections are available with standard SAE or optional metric fittings. Additional industrial applications for these Series 9030 calibrators include production testing of pressure transducers.
