FLOW SENSORS
Accurate, convenient
Engineered for a wide variety of applications, the Flo-Tube flow sensors create and sense a pressure difference. When connected to the appropriate secondary instrumentation, the product provides an accurate and convenient method of flow measurement, according to the company. It features low permanent pressure loss, and customized units for existing mountings. Intended applications include pipelines (natural gas, fuels, chemicals), stacks (mixtures, emission monitoring), ducts (airflow, HVAC controls), water (potable, superheated, co-generation plants, building supply), among others. TANKLESS WATER HEATER
With copper heat exchanger
The ProStar™ tankless gas water heater can be plumbed to serve a single fixture or multiple fixtures within the home. It is recommended for vacation homes, room additions, and other low-to-medium demand applications. The product is equipped with a copper heat exchanger and reportedly operates between 78-81 percent efficiency. According to the company, the tankless design heats water only when needed, with inputs modulating from 25,000 to 194,000 BTU, depending on hot water demand. A.O. SENSOR
Replaces mechanical float switch
The Leveltrak™ sensor is designed to replace mechanical float switches. It is an electronic "floatless" sensor that detects level without any moving parts, according to the company. It determines level by measuring the point of dielectric contrast that occurs at the level height, the company adds. ifm efector inc.http://rbi.ims.ca/4387-591
FLOW VALVE CONTROLS
Enable free flow from inlet to outlet
Two new additions to the company's JFC Series flow valve controls, JFC-4 and JFC-5, are designed to be used to control airflow from air cylinders, thus controlling the speed at which the piston strokes, either while extending or retracting, depending on the location in the circuit. They enable free flow from the inlet to the outlet past the needle and check valve. In reverse flow, from the outlet to the inlet, the check valve is sealed and the flow must pass through the metered passage controlled by the tapered adjustment needle. SOLENOID VALVE
Semi-inert, miniature
The new LHIX Series solenoid valve is specifically designed to handle moderately aggressive liquids and gases in a wide range of fluid handling applications. Featuring an FFKM/PFE elastomer, a 316-CRES spring and a Lee Alloy armature and plunger stop, the miniature valve offers superior corrosion resistance and is suitable for use in anesthesia and reagent delivery, gas detection systems, ink-jet printing, and other OEM flow switching applications. The semi-inert solenoid valve weighs less than 4.5 gm and is available in plug-in, face-mount, and ported soft-tube configurations. The valve also features low power consumption (550 mW) and low internal volume. The Lee Co.http://rbi.ims.ca/4387-593
GAS METERING VALVE
For patient ventilation systems
The company's gas metering valve is a direct-acting proportional Servoid® valve. It provides linear proportional control of the metering orifice, which yields linear proportional flow. It features a suspended-armature design that is inherently reliable and results in very low hysteresis. Elastomeric diaphragms provide pressure balancing and flow path isolation, according to the company. South Bend Controls Inc.http://rbi.ims.ca/4387-594
PROPORTIONAL SOLENOID VALVE
Uses suspended armature
The company's proportional solenoid valve is engineered as a single-stage, direct-acting valve. It provides a flow rate that is linearly proportional to the input current. According to the company, the flow capacity reaches a Cv of 0.20 over a pressure range of 25 to 70 psi with normal air flow rates of 120 slpm at 25 psig inlet. Typical power consumption is 5W. The design reportedly incorporates a unique suspended armature mated with hard seats, eliminating friction and making the valve repeatable with very low hysteresis. PRESS-IN CHECK VALVES
Designed for plastics
The new CCPI Series Press-In Chek® is a miniature cartridge-style check valve specifically designed for installation into plastics. Now available in 2.5 mm, 5.5 mm and 8 mm diameters, Lee's Press-In Chek features a robust barbed design. This design allows easy installation, provides retention, and prevents any bypass leakage around the valve. Each valve is 100 percent tested for flow, leakage, and cracking pressure to ensure consistent long-term performance. Constructed of stainless steel, the Press-In Chek is offered in a range of cracking pressures from 0-72.5 psid and is compatible with most fluids. The Lee Co.http://rbi.ims.ca/4387-596
HYDRAULIC HOSE PROTECTOR
PTFE spiral wrap prevents chafing
Heli-Tube® is a line of PTFE spiral wrap that can be installed over braided hydraulic hose for added protection where the potential for abrasion could cause leakage. It reportedly applies like tape to prevent chafing, which can puncture the wall to cause leaks and equipment failure. It is chemically inert and nonflammable and is available in a variety of sizes up to 1 1/2 in O.D. to fit over hoses or bundles up to 10 in O.D. In addition, it can be installed by hand without tools. M.M. Newman Corp.http://rbi.ims.ca/4387-597
