Dow Corning is utilizing hot melt technology to achieve instant green strength of pressure-sensitive adhesive with the high performance of a crosslinked silicone sealant, improving productivity while reducing costs. The HM-2510 Assembly Sealant was developed to have a low viscosity, letting it flow into deeper sections and gain a longer working time.
The assembly sealant offers reliability of silicone sealants and instant green strength so parts can be moved immediately from one processing step to the next. It's designed for a number of automated processes, including automotive applications, where its green strength can reduce the need for fixturing.
The silicone sealant adhesive offers adhesion to PVC, aluminum, painted or treated wood, high performance paints, plastics and various other substrates. It has a low odor formulation, an open time of 15 minutes and pot life up to 24 hours. The sealant is optimized for use with automated dispensing equipment.
