FITTINGS
Minimaticr slip-on fittings are an alternative to ferrule
and push-to-connect design fittings and feature a single
barb design, which provides a slip-on/locked-on connection.
These low-profile fittings are used with flexible urethane
hose, without the need for additional clamps. Electroless
nickel plating offers corrosion resistance. The fittings
are available in multiple configurations.

of inks and paints in automated marking operations.
High transfer efficiency, zero-fluid dead volume, and
clean cutoff provide accurate spots and bands without
overspray, clogging, or downtime. Controlled spray patterns
are from 0.170 inch to 2 inches wide. Uses include showing

Cartridges
TruBindTM oil-absorbent cartridges remove
oils and other hydrocarbons from industrial wastewater,
water-soluble parts-cleaning solvents, and machine tool
coolants. The cartridges chemically bind unwanted oil
contamination into environmentally sound, polymer-based
media. The used absorbent media can then be incinerated,
used as fuel, or disposed of in accordance with local
regulations. Application tests have shown that the absorbent
cartridge maximizes the life of coolants and parts washing
solvents.

Plastic welders
SureWeld 20 and Light-touch SureWeld 35 ultrasonic
welders are for precision-bonding automotive plastic
assemblies. Ultrasonic technology helps the SureWeld
plastic welders weld, stake, rivet, insert metal fasteners,
and spot-weld plastic assemblies in seconds. The units
feature rectangular support columns, which eliminate
deflection and deliver uniform bonding over the entire
weldment. Applications include use in reflectors and
lamp and dashboard assemblies.

System modeling tool
ObjectGEODE tool set addresses the entire project life
cycle, from analysis and design all the way through
code generation and the final testing. The tool is also
used to automatically generate test cases. ObjectGEODE
gives users the ability to accurately generate all test
cases that match the test objectives directly from the
design. ObjectGEODE-generated test cases are used during
system/software integration and validation. Users can
model real-time systems with ITU-standard notations
called Specification and Description Language, as well
as test objectives with Message Sequence Charts or simple
Boolean expressions.

Spring selection software
SPEC SELECTTM II spring selection software
enables users to export a 2D drawing to a CAD drawing
system for real-world prototyping. The program is a
Windows-based one and works on any Windows or Windows
NT system. SPEC SELECT II searches for products based
on absolute values of length and load deflection, estimates
spring cycle length for a specified application, sorts
spring features based on criteria selected by the user,
and exports graphics and product data to a CAD program.

Design software
DesignCAD Pro 2000 provides complete 2D drafting as
well as 3D modeling capability and features enhanced
shading, drawing, and printing function speeds. The
software also features improved shading and rendering,
with textures, texture mapping, multiple independent
light sources, and 3D animation. Drawings can be imported
from and exported to a variety of graphics file formats.
With DesignCAD's VRML output, users can place a DesignCAD
3D model on web pages and allow others to view, rotate,
and animate the drawing with web browsers.

Surface modeling software
Surf 3.0 surface modeling software features three new
modules which enable virtual modeling and allow the
user to move between virtual and physical modeling.
This gives the design team flexibility to resolve a
design issue in the medium they prefer. The Surf Scan
module allows the user to handle dense, ordered, or
random point clouds generated by automatic laser and
photo digitizers. The Surf Grid module allows Surf to
be interfaced with grid-based applications. The Surf
Synergy module allows the user to remotely collaborate
with another Surf user through a TCP/IP connection.

Analysis system
TOPAQr advanced analysis system is a software package
and desktop scanning system that reads and interprets
Fujir Prescale and Pressurexr pressure-indicating films.
Used in conjunction with these films, TOPAQ provides
a perspective of the distribution and actual magnitude
of pressure between contacting surfaces. TOPAQ is a
PC-Windows-based system that produces digitally enhanced
images and statistical reports from the exposed film.

Software
CATDADSTM version 9.0 is for design simulation
and is embedded in CATIAr. The software allows users
to analyze real-world behavior of mechanical systems
directly in CATIA. Simulation results are viewed as
graphs and animation to verify fit, performance, and
reliability of product designs before building a single
physical prototype.

Tolerance analysis software
VSA-GDT and VSA-3D 3D tolerance analysis software is
supplied to Ford Motor Co. as a module integrated within
I-DEASTM software, which is an essential
element of the C3P (CAD/CAM/CAE/PIM) toolset. VSA software
directly integrated with I-DEAS reduces concept-to-market
time and predicts the amounts and causes of dimensional
variation at each critical characteristic in complex
mechanical assemblies. The GD&T schemes, assembly
sequence, and assembly methods defined in I-DEAS automatically
create the VSA-3D tolerance model.
