A new online source for failure analysis information has been launched by ASM International, the Materials Information Society. The ASM's Failure Analysis Center contains more than 1,000 failure analysis case histories, some of which first appeared in the society's bimonthly Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention. The case histories cover a variety of military, aerospace, industrial, and medical applications. And the cases range from the timely (adverse reactions to metallic body piercings) to the historic (the Titanic as a metallurgical problem). For more information, visit www.asminternational.org.
