ST-1665 polyether thermoplastic poly-urethane provides heat resistance and maintains its integrity over a relatively high processing temperature spectrum. In multi-layer laminations such as camping mattresses, for example, the material is typically used on the "high heat" side of the lamination. The high melt temperature of the urethane allows it to maintain its integrity and performance characteristics while films on the other side of the substrate soften and bond, forming a multi-layer lamination.
Two new technologies from Stratasys, created in partnership with Boeing, Ford, and Siemens, will bring accurate, repeatable manufacturing of very large thermoplastic end products, and much bigger composite parts, onto the factory floor for industries including automotive and aerospace.
