Because they become one with the sheet metal and don't protrude on the opposite side, these new TY-D Mount holders leave no openings for EMI/RFI, dirt, or dust. Sized to accommodate a variety of cables, the TY-D Mount hardware installs in sheets from 0.040 to 0.125 inch.
PennEngineering has also developed a new panel fastener designed for quick, tool-less installation into thin sheet materials. When hand pressed into properly sized holes in the mounting panel, the PFS SNAP-IN fastener stays in place by means of a plastic retainer that grips the panel with flexible fingers. The fastener can be installed either before or after final component assembly. The SNAP-IN's screw, which is held captive in the plastic retainer, features a standard dog-point lead-in, steel threads, and a six-lobe recess with an overmolded ABS cap.
The latest ultrasonic welder from Plastic Assembly Systems packs 2,000W of power into a 20-kHz benchtop unit that offers a stroke of 3.15 inches and a maximum force of 463 lbs.
