UPGRADED DISPLAY
Longer lasting, higher contrast
The LM60412, the upgraded version of the LM60408, has higher contrast ratio, with better color definition and clarity than its predecessor. The viewing angles of 80 degrees vertical and more than 100 degrees horizontal are much larger than those of the LM60408. The LM60412 also provides 25 percent higher brightness levels with up to 200 cd/m2. The inter-face timing is up to 65 percent faster, and users can enjoy at least 50,000 hrs of service. 3-D PRINTER
Shipment date moved up
The InVision™ HR 3D printer, for which 3D Systems Corp. received a large number of requests after being shown at the Jewelers Circular Keystone show, has had its scheduled production date moved up. The high-resolution printer, which is capable of producing fine featured, highly detailed products in a day, is the second 3-D printer to be introduced by 3D Systems. QUADRATURE COUNTER
Uses FPGA chip
Designed for robotic, motor control, measurement, and instrumentation applications, the 4136 is a stackable PC/104 card with eight 32-bit up/down counters. The counter can count in a normal quadrature mode (four times) or up/down mode (one time). The 4136b also uses a FPGA chip for all counting and I/O which allows it to be easily upgraded or modified for specific requirements. The 4126 has both TTL or RS-422 levels as an option on its quadrature and index inputs, with TTL inputs having pullup resistors and RC/Schmitt filtering and the RS-422 inputs being better for longer cable lengths. HIGH RESOLUTION FOR DRIVES

Elmo Motion Control has incorporated high-resolution feedback into the SimplIQ drives family. The three drives that make up the SimplIQ family—the Harmonica, Cello, and Bassoon—all have different output power levels. Both the Harmonica and Bassoon servo drives provide output power levels from 240 to 1,190W and the Cello drives provide output power levels from 250 to 3,550W. HighRES has released an integrated 3D reverse engineering software plug-in for Solid Edge. The first product to offer digitizing directly into Solid Edge, HighRES lets users choose from more than 100 tools available from the drop-down HighRES toolbar and saves engineers time by giving them access to digitized entities that reside in the feature tree. The company will provide customer training and annual maintenance support options. The SpecChecker, SpecMonitor, and RuleManager programs from Axiom have all been released in new V7 versions. SpecChecker ensures that CAD standards are adhered to; SpecMonitor enforces standards while designers are placing elements to warn them when off-standard elements are placed; and RuleManager creates "rule files" that the other two programs use. The IPA version 8.0 has the ability to publish document templates that have incorporated advanced text-to-speech (TTS) functionality.
