Wednesday holds a full bag of product introduction press events in the
National Manufacturing Week press presentation room (S101B) in McCormick
Place.
Starting things off at 10 a.m. Spot Coolers will show its 2004 line of
emergency and permanent portable air conditioners and heat pumps. The devices
are available in air-cooled, water-cooled, and split system versions, with
cooling capacities ranging from 1-50 tons.
Custom Plastics introduces the HandiWallTM, a new cellular PVC slatwall at
11 a.m. Its production process brings in more air into the structure
without sacrificing structural integrity, thus reducing weight compared to rigid
PVC slatwalls by about 30 percent. Being lighter and stronger than rigid
materials, the new slatwall is easier to handle and less expensive to ship.
At noontime, Epic Data presents "Launch and Lunch," which details its P3
Collaborative Manufacturing Execution (P3CME), a suite of integrated tools to
provide real-time visibility and control of manufacturing processes from shop
floor up through the supply chain.
Demand Stream takes the stage at 1 p.m. featuring its lean manufacturing
software at work. Examples will be presented of how the company's methods of
sustaining and enhancing lean principles delivers lead-time and inventory
reductions, as well as productivity help to keep manufacturers competitive.
Closing out the sessions at 2 p.m., Virtuosity (www.virtuosity.com) will present its
voice-activated Virtual Assistant services that are targeted at helping people
organize their daily barrage of phone, fax, and email
messages.
