Pawling's newest butyl compound is made to keep up with Dupont's Viton product, with the same purity and low outgassing, but with a better seal and cheaper price. B516 has a Durometer scale score of 55, while Viton has a score of 60-70, and even sustained water immersion doesn't change the B516's softness and dimensional stability. It has an aged tensile strength of 1755 psi, and is made for custom molded seals for semiconductor foundry and testing equipment that operates in mild chemical and thermal environments.
