Broadcom Corp. (www.broadcom.com) has rolled out BCM2045, reportedly the industry's first 0.13-micron single-chip Bluetooth transceiver. With 3 Mbps enhanced data rate (EDR) addemdum, it is designed to provide power savings and multimedia capabilities to mobile phones, notebook and desktop computers, PDAs, and wireless peripherals. The BCM2045 also makes it possible to save 50 percent OEM/ODM external bill of materials and achieve smaller printed circuit board space utilization.
Two new technologies from Stratasys, created in partnership with Boeing, Ford, and Siemens, will bring accurate, repeatable manufacturing of very large thermoplastic end products, and much bigger composite parts, onto the factory floor for industries including automotive and aerospace.
