In Europe, UMTS (W-CDMA) DVB-H permits viewing of high-quality television broadcasts while traveling at high speed, making phone calls or sending and receiving e-mail. With its 2.2-inch widescreen LCD display, the LG-U900 allows up to three hours of continuous viewing. LG Electronics selected Renesas Technology's SH-Mobile for its design-in support capabilities, including middleware and development tools. Designed for mobile phone multimedia applications incorporating audio and video, the SH-Mobile processor integrates a VPU4 (Video Processing Unit 4) hardware accelerator to provide support for DTV broadcasts.
