Fielding 13 teams from the U.S., Korea, and Germany, the 8th International Micro Air Vehicle Competition took place April 10 in Tucson, AZ. The contest judges entries in separate MAV design competitions. The first-ever ornithopter competition, for example, judges MAVs that mimic the flight of insects and birds based on speed and maneuverability (University of Arizona placed first). For more information on other categories of the competition, and a list of the winning teams, go to http://rbi.ims.ca/3849-549.
