Five Essential Technologies for Motion ControlThe newest advancements in software and hardware have made it easier to develop machines with motion control that are lower in cost and more efficient than ever before.
"Heat dissipating" motor shaft coupler I am looking for a supplier who makes a shaft coupler that will permit enough steady state heat dissipation so that a temperature difference from one side of the coupler to the other will be approximately 450deg F. I have a servo motor controlling a mechanical assembly inside an oven (600deg F) and I need to maintain a direct, inline connection with the motor shaft (100-150deg F).

PEM® SpotFast™ self-clinching fasteners permanently join two pieces of sheetmetal without protrusion from either side of the panels, providing a clean, smooth appearance. Replaces riveting or welding and can even serve as a "pivot point" if required. To install, simply press into punched mounting holes in the panels. The fastener creates "cold flow" of panel material which holds the fastener in place. Click Here.

Last year at Hannover Fair, lots of people were talking about Industry 4.0. This is a concept that seems to have a different name in every region. I’ve been referring to it as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), not to be confused with the plain old Internet of Things (IoT). Others refer to it as the Connected Industry, the smart factory concept, M2M, data extraction, and so on.
Some of the biggest self-assembled building blocks and structures made from engineered DNA have been developed by researchers at Harvard's Wyss Institute. The largest, a hexagonal prism, is one-tenth the size of an average bacterium.
