The 1756 DeviceNet(TM) bridge module expands a user's messaging capabilities by linking multiple DeviceNet networks over a common backplane or among multiple networks supported within the ControlLogix system. The module is offered with both embedded-scanner and bridge functionality. The scanner version is for I/O control capability from the ControlLogix(TM) system to all devices on the network. The bridge function expands this capability by allowing two-way messaging between devices and other networks, across the ControlLogix backplane.
Sciaky, provider of electron-beam additive manufacturing (EBAM) services, will start selling these machines commercially in September. The company has used its EBAM 3D printing technology for making very large, high-value, metal prototypes and production parts for aerospace and defense OEMs.
