This new software suite contains ABAQUS/Standard, ABAQUS/Explicit, and ABAQUS/CAE, programs designed for advanced finite element analysis. The suite uses add-on capabilities and new tools and features to offer automatic multi-level substructuring for better vibration analysis, material failure characterization for fracture and failure analysis, new bolted-joint simulation technology, and tire modeling with detailed tire tread and road interaction simulation. The suite also offers adaptive remeshing, postprocessing enhancements for nonlinear analysis that allow animations to be compared with each other and external videos, and parallel performance improvements such as scaling for many problems on up to eight processors.
