A patent-pending electrical module incorporates a moveable cable connector, which allows the connected cable to be positioned at any of five different angles, through a 180-degree span, resulting in faster and neater robot cable dress. The module is used to pass electrical signals from the robot side to the tool side of the quick-connect robotic tool changer. The new G19-Swivel Electrical Module provides a new level of flexibility in electrical signal cable dress by allowing the user to select the best angle of cable attachment, making a neater and more compact cable envelope. The G19 is used on a wide range of ATI robotic tool changers used in material handling, stamping, welding and assembly applications.

Leg Leveling Guides
Variety of sizes and shapes available
The new line of Leg Leveling Guides is part of H.A. Guden's ongoing effort to supply more industrial hardware components to designers and engineers with little time to search for individual sources.
The Leg Leveling Glides are available in heights of 1 to 2.5 inches with base diameters of 0.875 to 1.70 inches. Other features include hex or round bases, swivel or rigid stems, and slotted or square points for making height adjustments. In terms of durability, the glides are made of zinc-plated steel with metal or rubber feet. Guden can also supply custom glides to meet a customer's individual requirements.
Applications include furniture, dividers, sheet metal enclosures, point-of-purchase displays, gaming units, shelving, cabinetry, vending machines, appliances and kiosks.

The all-metal construction is available in a choice of steel or stainless steel bodies, each with a maximum working load of 555N (125 lbs). A wide, thick, steel paddle-style actuator handle provides a solid and convenient grip for gloved hands in construction, off-highway, and industrial applications. A riveted slide bracket delivers consistent performance and permits installation of an internal release handle inside the enclosure.
A recessed cup that holds the wide handle and optional lock mechanism provides for virtually flush-profile installation. Attachment options include welded, riveted, or bolted mounting. All latch models install conveniently in a single rectangular hole, with minimal preparation time or effort.

Self-clinching in sheetmetal
PEM® TY-D™ self-clinching, all metal, cable-tie mounts provide secure attachment for mounting wires to electronic enclosures. They "self-clinch" permanently in sheetmetal as thin as .04 inch/1.02 mm or as thick as .125 inch/3.18 mm and eliminate the use of adhesives that typically fail over time and temperature cycling.
Enables assembling from one side
The common problem of assembly operations assembling bolts from two sides of an application has been solved without welding with the TL Stud, which enables the production line to have one person on the line drop-in and quarter-turn the TL Stud to lock it in place. All the necessary parts are now assembled with one person from one side, top-loading. No need for additional labor or welded production.
A simple mating impression is stamped in metal or molded in plastic and designed to match the radius and thickness of the TL Stud. The bridge supports the TL Stud from falling through and allows the TL Stud to turn 90 degrees and lock in place. There are half-moon ramped nibs placed under the head for those applications where a positive lock-in-place is required. The end of the TL Stud can be equipped with an external or internal hex drive feature to ease the loading and assembly.

This molded, one-piece, plastic hinge is corrosion resistant and designed to supply choices in fastening techniques. Craftech's engineering department designed this living hinge with countersunk holes to accommodate a screw size more robust than competitor's hinges, giving end users a stronger fastened hinge. A variety of hole choices further expands fastening applications. This hinge is available in flame retardant Polypropylene and flame retardant, UV stabilized Polypropylene.

Fast Curing Adhesive
High thermal conductivity
Master Bond Inc. (Hackensack, NJ) has introduced Master Bond EP24AN, a fast curing two-component epoxy adhesive with an exceptionally high thermal conductivity. Its thermal conductivity is over 22 BTU/in/ft2/hr/F. EP24AN also has superior electrical insulation properties. Volume resistivity is >1013 ohm-cm.
This easy-to-use material has a 1:1 non-critical mix ratio weight or volume. It has excellent adhesion to a wide range of similar and dissimilar substrates and can offer a tensile shear strength of over 1,600 psi. EP24AN has an extremely fast cure time at room temperature. Gel times can be obtained in 20 minutes!
Master Bond EP24AN has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, low shrinkage and superb dimensional stability. It has outstanding thermal shock and chemical resistance. EP24AN is available in 1/2 pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon kits.

Helical Grooved Pins
For high-shear applications
Spirol International Corporation has introduced a line of standard inch and metric helical grooved solid pins for high-shear applications where a grooved pin is installed into a hardened hole. With standard grooved pins, the high peaks tend to shear off during installation, causing retention problems and field failures. These new helical grooved pins solve this assembly challenge.
Spirol's helical grooved pins utilize a unique groove configuration, making them the ideal solid pin for installation in harder host materials. Wide, low-profiled peaks spiral about the body of the pin, allowing the pin to maintain its integrity when installed into a hardened hole. These helical grooves provide low and consistent installation forces, compared to common solid pins. Spirol offers these grooved pins in three styles for specific applications: Series GP200 Full Length Groove; Series GP210 Half Length Centered Groove; and Series GP220 Half Length Offset Groove.
Standard materials for helical grooved pins include low carbon steel and 300 Series austenitic stainless steel. Standard finishes include plain oiled, zinc plated, phosphate coated, and passivated. Standard inch diameters are 1/16 to 1/4 inch with lengths ranging from 1/4 to 2-1/4 inches. Standard metric diameters are 1.5 to 6 mm with lengths ranging from 6 to 55 mm. Thread wrinkle holds position
The SSX Field Ready screw, just introduced by ITW Shakeproof, drives in easily and securely holds a fixed position in a component, ready to be driven when the component is finally mounted or assembled, either in the field or at the final assembly point.
The "stop and hold" torque-prevailing "wrinkle" can be created at any point along the thread form to achieve the desired depth and resistance. When the screw is initially driven into a component and reaches the stop thread pitch it will remain fixed at that position while the component is transferred or shipped to the point of final assembly. Then it is simply driven in one step to complete the final installation.
The wrinkle-like thread pitch that generates the stop and hold torque can be custom formed to meet the amplitude and duration of torque required for specific applications. The SSX Field Ready screw has standard lead threads for easy starting and a standard thread form beyond the stop torque section to facilitate final installation. The thread wrinkle can be tuned to provide a consistent and repeatable feel.

The TOX®-FinePress program line uses heavy duty linear ball rail guides, thus offering ideal modular building blocks for automation and assembly processes. The highlight of these presses is the ram guidance consisting of a precision linear ball rail guide system, such as those used in machine tools and measuring equipment. These guides are noted for their high productive capacity and long term accuracy and repeatability. The guides are preloaded, so that no readjustments are needed. The precision TOX®-FinePress program line comprises press force ranges from 2 to 57 kN (450 - 12,800 lb-force). All presses are available in S (standard) version, L (increased working height) version, and W (increased throat depth) version. And all presses have height adjustment over an integrated cranking mechanism. A basic tool set is also included with each press. The presses come in the following styles: toggle presses, rack-and-pinion presses, pneumatic presses, and pneumatic-assisted hand-lever-presses.
One Component Adhesive/Sealant

Master Bond Inc. (Hackensack, NJ) has developed a new toughened one-component heat curing epoxy adhesive/sealant, called EP17. This compound has a service operating range from -300F to as high as 600F. It is formulated to cure at temperatures from 300 to 350F for 60-90 minutes. EP17 bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, glass, ceramics, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics. It has excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals including fuels, acids, bases, oils and many solvents.
Master Bond EP17 possesses high physical strength properties and is readily machinable. It has superior dimensional stability and very low shrinkage upon cure. Tensile strength is 8,700 psi and tensile modulus is 387,000 psi. EP17 has a Shore D hardness of >90 and a compressive strength of >13,000 psi.
Master Bond EP17 is easy to use. It does not require any mixing prior to use and has an "unlimited" working life at room temperature. It is 100 percent reactive, does not contain any solvents or diluents, and has excelent electrical insulation proporties. The standard color is gray. EP17 is a flowable paste and can also be formulated for application on vertical surfaces without sagging or dripping (EP17ND). The cured adhesive fully meets the requirements of MIL-MMM-A-132 as well as many other specifications.
EP17 is available for use in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon containers.

Reinforced Epoxy System
Abrasion resistance, optical clarity
A new nanosilica-filled one-component UV curable epoxy called UV22 has been developed for coating, sealing and encapsulation applications. It features superb abrasion resistance, excellent optical clarity, low shrinkage and high physical strength properties. UV22 cures rapidly at room temperature upon exposure to a UV light source and is not oxygen inhibited. It has a service operating temperature range of -60 to 300F. Post curing the UV22 material enhances its temperature resistance profile. Adding heat (90-125C for 30 minutes) will give it a glass transition temperature of 135C, far higher than traditional UV systems. The post curing is also effective in increasing its chemical resistance to solvents, acids and bases.

High torque resistance and tensile strength
Spirol International Corporation has launched a new family of brass inserts designed for placement in the plastic mold prior to plastic injection. The new hexagonal molded-in insert family has a generous hexagonal head on each end and a large center undercut and should be used in applications where high torque and pull-out/through resistance is required or where the molder would prefer to place the insert prior to molding. The hexagonal heads provide a high level of bi-directional torque resistance and its large undercut provides high tensile strength. Spirol Series 40 is a through hole molded-in insert and Series 44 is a blind-end molded-in insert.

Features shock absorbers and full adjustability
SCHUNK Inc. introduces a new series of gripper-swivel units, GSM. The GSM offers the choice of 2-finger parallel grippers, 3-finger concentric grippers, 2-finger angular grippers, and 180-degree angular grippers. With hydraulic shock absorbers to dampen the rotation, the GSM also has the capability of being fully adjustable from 0-180 degrees. With the internal porting of the air supply to the gripper, the GSM will eliminate interfering contours from airlines and sensors to the gripper. The GSM line offers a total of 92 different versions with strokes ranging from 4 to 20 mm and a grip force range of 28N (6.3 lbf) to 270N (61 lbf).

Two new lines of Southco free-operating hinges offer designers wide-ranging options of fit, style, and affordable functionality for network, telecommunications, computer and industrial cabinets, enclosures and equipment. They also permit 180-degrees of free-swinging motion and provide enhanced mounting and operating attributes for enclosures with formed sheet metal doors.
Most of the fixed-installation style (EH Class) hinges can accommodate doors and frames that are on the same plane. The door-removal corner-hinge style (KH Class) can fit virtually flush into the corner bend of formed sheet metal doors, providing a clean aesthetic look, easy panel preparation and low installed cost.
Various models in the two hinge classes can accommodate maximum axial and radial working loads ranging from 1,200 N (270 lbs/ft) to 5,000 N (1,120 lbs/ft). Several hinge styles feature concealed mounting hardware for a better aesthetic presentation, enhanced security and vandal resistance. Through-bolt styles with countersunk holes provide economy and also permit blind-hole installation where there is no access to the rear of the frame.

Indentations prevent loosening slide
The BosScrew provides as much as four times the holding power, and the drive-to-strip ratio is 66 percent better than the leading screws used in today's plastics. According to its developer, this is not merely a new screw for plastic materials but a new concept in how to achieve a secure fastening in plastics.
With its series of "pressure wells", or indentations, along the upper face of the thread circumference, the BosScrew looks as unique as the function it provides. Rather than attempting to compensate for plastic creep, the screw uses that creep to achieve an interlocking embedment of the threads in the material. Once clamp load is applied to the assembly, the plastic creeps into the indentations in the screw threads, creating resistance bumps with valleys in-between. To loosen, the crests in the screw thread between the indentations must climb over each of these bumps. Reverse tightening the torque must actually be applied to drive the screw back over the bumps and loosen it.
