Can support 62 addressable I/O modules
Available in single AS-Interface or double AS-Interface network versions, the gateways are suited for networking safety inputs (e-stops, door interlocks, and light curtains) using AS-Interface Safety at Work. These modular Profibus slaves are designed in accordance with AS-Interface specification 2.11 in IP20 and stand just 3.25 inches tall with the Profibus connector attached, making them particularly suitable for use in switch cabinets. These gateways also feature a rugged stainless steel housing for long life and reliable operation in harsh application environments. They feature duplicate address detection to guard against incorrectly configured nodes, and a four-line graphical display for easy configuration and troubleshooting. An RS232 port can be used in parallel with a running Profibus/AS-Interface network to display additional information. Ground fault detection functionality allows the gateway to continuously monitor the integrity of the AS-Interface network and report undesirable ground faults to the PC or PLC. They also allow the user to leverage the Profibus configuration tool to adjust the type and amount of data to be transferred via the Profibus. The gateway can be placed anywhere in the AS-Interface segment. The single-channel version can handle 248 inputs and 186 outputs over 62 addressable I/O modules. The dual-channel gateway offers even more I/O capabilities, with 496 inputs and 372 outputs.
Single-Axis Servo Controller
Combines power supply, amplifier, and position controller
The SoloistTM is a single-axis servo controller that combines a power supply, amplifier, and position controller in a single package. It can control up to four tasks simultaneously, as well as handle variables and manage I/O. It has high-speed position latch inputs and advanced data logging capabilities that make it suitable for laboratory, test, and industrial applications. A Windows® -based interface provides powerful diagnostic, development, and analysis tools for OEMs and end users alike. Aerotech can integrate the Soloist into a complete motion system, removing the burden of parameter setup and axis tuning. It is capable of driving a wide range of motors including brushless, dc servo, and microsteppers. Brushless motors are sinusoidally commutated to minimize torque ripple. The Soloist uses a digital servo loop with feed forward to tightly track velocity and position trajectories with virtually zero error. Onboard auto-tuning makes servo tuning simple. With variables and math capability, one program can be used to produce a variety of parts by simply prompting the user for new application data.
Metal-Core Gasket Material
Seals hot liquids in high-stress applications
The EnCoreTM EMC-7201 is one of the first members of the new EnCore family of metal-core gasket materials available from ISI. It consists of two high-density sheets of an aramid fiber/NBR blend, chemically and mechanically fused to an expanded steel core. This combination provides exceptional radial strength, in addition to excellent sealing performance, load retention, and chemical resistance even in dynamic environments with excessive thermal expansion. Dark gray in color, EnCore EMC-7201 is available with a graphite- or PTFE-based antistick surface coating. Typical applications for the material are structural joints in diesel engines (e.g., gear cases or flywheel housings) and high-pressure hydraulic joints (e.g., pump and motor cases). EMC-7201 is also suited to other high-performance applications such as recreational and racing vehicles.

Ensures easy mating without resistance buildup
UniFlorTM 8917, a high-temperature perfluoropolyether (PFPE)-based connector grease, can reduce the force required to mate separable connectors and ensure low electrical resistance over the life of the connector. Tests show that a 6.35-mm terminal lubricated with UniFlor 8917 can be mated to a depth of 0.375 inches at a rate of 0.0333 inch/sec with just 0.8 lbs of force on the first mating and a mere 0.3 lbs on the 10th mating. Test results also show that UniFlor 8917 can reduce insertion force 40 percent more than some PFPE greases thickened with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), widely hailed for its low coefficient of friction. UniFlor 8917 also ensures reliable current flow after repeated re-matings. An independent laboratory reports that after 1,008 hrs at 150C, the average resistance across terminals lubricated with UniFlor 8917 is 0.489 Vm more than 95 percent below the USCAR standard of 10 Vm. In addition, UniFlor 8917 costs less than many PFPE/PTFE formulations.

High-Current 55V-Rated Q101-Qualified MOSFETs
For heavy-duty automotive applications
The 55V-rated Q101-qualified automotive HEXFET® power MOSFETs rated for continuous duty in the D2Pak outline are an addition to recently introduced 40V devices. They are designed to increase safety margin in specific circuitry and load topologies where the higher voltage rating would handle load-dump transients on the battery line, or transients caused by loads with strong inductive nature. A standard three-lead D2Pak is limited to 75A to 100A, depending on lead cross-section and manufacturer's specification method; but the new devices have seven leads. The additional leads allow a larger wirebond area, reducing die-free package resistance, enabling a device on-resistance specification of 2.6 Vm max at 25C. In addition, repetitive avalanche (Ear) is characterized on the data sheet and guaranteed up to maximum junction temperature (Tj-max), especially useful for automotive applications.

The model AVT-418 is an Ethernet interface between a host PC and most of the automotive network protocols used by modules and vehicles now in production. It supports all the current and popular protocols, and is easy to set up and use. It rapidly switches between the different protocols with simple software commands. A sample application, including source code, is available for free from the vendor website. The AVT-418 Ethernet network interface is also rugged and easy to use. The Ethernet connection is electrically isolated from the vehicle and protects the Ethernet from possible faults or surges.

Multi-Segment FLexible Type-4 Safety Light Curtain
Provides custom fit with unique configuration combinations
The MiniSafe Flexible MSF4700 safety light curtains are engineered to withstand high shock and vibration environments typical of punch presses and other heavy industrial machinery. Their multi-segmented design allows them to protect up to four different openings by connecting up to four 35 × 50 mm housings in sequence. Protected heights from 150 mm to 1, 800 mm and resolutions of 14 mm, 20 mm, and 30 mm are available, with any combination thereof being possible. Remote fixed-blanking allows for quick setup and changeover for different jobs. Programming the blanking feature is easily performed at the front of the metal enclosure, or by an installer-supplied keyswitch that can be conveniently located near the work cell. The controller is available in a 35 mm DIN IP20 enclosure with 24V dc solid-state safety outputs. It is also available in a 14-gauge steel IP65 lockable enclosure with a choice of solid state or dry contact outputs (mechanical relays). A wide variety of quick disconnects are available for connecting the sensors, power, and safety signal.

The new EZ Limo series of linear motion products combine advanced step motor functionality and sophisticated motion control features into easy-to-use linear motion products. The EZS and EZHS series of motorized sliders provide positioning through the use of a table and slider driven by the ball screw. The sliders come in stroke lengths of 50-500 mm with a repetitive positioning accuracy of ±0.02 mm under full load and speed, and a maximum resolution of 0.01 mm. The EZHS series uses a software-based smooth drive function to suppress vibration and noise even during low-speed operation. The EZC, EZHC and EZHP series of motorized cylinders provide pushing and pulling motion using a rod driven by the ball screw. The motorized cylinders have a speed range of 0.01-800 mm/sec with a maximum thrust of 45-400N. The EZC, EZHC, and EZHP offer a 0.01 mm resolution, strokes of 50-300 mm with a repetitive positioning accuracy of ±0.02 mm.
