"Wash Thru" motors are for long life in harsh environments and feature completely encapsulated windings to protect them from moisture and contaminants. Rather than attempt to seal out the elements, these motors isolate the motor component most vulnerable to moisture damage. The motors are available in NEMA frame sizes 56 through 256T, and a similar version is available in 284T through 445T frame sizes. An additional silicone coating over the encapsulation provides additional protection, and the entire motor is primed by an electrodeposition system to provide corrosion protection.
