Single-axis servo control has always been its own product category. You can think of it as the axis of economy where smaller product designs and easy-to-use software tools drive toward creating less expensive solutions that simplify integration.

This formula is alive and well today in new highly-integrated products, advanced-programming solutions, networking options and bundled solutions that focus on the power of one axis. The goal remains to carve out a niche that serves the unique needs of particular single-axis applications. But now the options include an ever-widening variety of product approaches, unique form factors and technologies that serve single-axis motion and, in some cases, machine control needs as well.
