Anaheim, CA -- Phoenix Contact introduced its new online
selection and design software, called Combicon Select, at Wescon this week. The
service helps designers choose printed circuit board terminal blocks, and
provides them with downloadable 2D or 3D layout data that is ready to import
into their CAD designs via DXF, IGES, STEP, and VRML.
The service aims to help customers save design, production, and
installation time, says Greg Jerrehian, Product Manager. Engineers can use the
software online, or on CD-ROM. One benefit to the online approach is that it is
consistently updated.
A series of menu choices walks users through the current, voltage,
pin spacing and position, conductor connection system, and direction and type of
mounting in order to narrow down the available options. Once a user finds the
product needed, he or she can download a solid model of it with just a click.
