Surf 3.0 surface modeling software features three new modules which enable virtual modeling and allow the user to move between virtual and physical modeling. This gives the design team flexibility to resolve a design issue in the medium they prefer. The Surf Scan module allows the user to handle dense, ordered, or random point clouds generated by automatic laser and photo digitizers. The Surf Grid module allows Surf to be interfaced with grid-based applications. The Surf Synergy module allows the user to remotely collaborate with another Surf user through a TCP/IP connection.
