Cutting a seal for a piston by yourself or matching a seal from
one manufacturer with a piston from another manufacturer can both be exercises
in frustration. Parker Hannifin is introducing a new integrated piston that
eliminates the problem.
"With our integrated piston, you get a piston, seal, and bearing
that were made for each other in a single assembly," says Parker Hannifin's
The piston is made from cold-drawn carbon steel. The machined
bearing has wide surface area and the seal can be matched to the application
requirements. The bearing is molded onto the piston core.
Griffee says that the product reduces side-load effects, and
guards against contamination and cylinder drift in industrial machinery, mobile
equipment, and many other applications.
