By using Simulink® and SimMechanics, Instron Structural Testing (www.instron.com) has achieved simulation that was five times faster than previous ones when designing a multi-axis test fixture that can apply dynamic loads to a race car. The company used Simulink to develop the controller and SimMechanics to develop the mechanical part of the test fixture, as well as other mechanics, such as 15 moving parts for each wheel.
