Pure white light is the additive mixture of all the visible rays of the spectrum, and now Indium Gallium Nitride (InGaN) blue chip technology, combined with a phosphor coating, produces this white light. DDP(reg) 200-NWW LEDs use this technology to provide white light over wide angles. Available in voltages from 5 to 120V ac, dc,or bi-polar, the LEDs can be incorporated into snap-in, cartridge-mount, or bolt-on panel lights with secondary optics. The LED also comes in a lamp-based version to replace any T-1 3/4, T-3 1/4, or T-4 1/2 incandescent bulb. Thanks to their solid-state design, the LEDs will take more than 100,000 hours to degrade to half brightness, and will operate with less heat and current than the bulbs they replace, says maker Data Display Products.
