High positional accuracy in a zero-backlash gearhead
Built for OEM robotic applications, the SHD Gearhead Size 14 has a 1.5 arc-min positional accuracy and Ī5 arc-sec repeatability. It has a high-precision harmonic drive gearing and high-capacity cross roller bearing, with a rated torque of 33 inches-lb and a maximum torque of 310 inches-lb. It has an outer diameter of 70 mm, is only 17 mm long, and comes in 50:1 and 100:1 gear ratios. It has necessary motion control components like the harmonic drive gear and the cross roller bearing, which allows it to be incorporated into the machine housing.
Festo's BionicKangaroo combines pneumatic and electrical drive technology, plus very precise controls and condition monitoring. Like a real kangaroo, the BionicKangaroo robot harvests the kinetic energy of each takeoff and immediately uses it to power the next jump.
