Atrion releases REACH tool

July 23, 2007

Atrion International, a Montreal-based regulatory support firm, has released Intelligent Authoring for REACH, an updated automated tool that updates safety data sheets for compliance with the European Union’s REACH directive controlling hazardous chemical substances. The tool is designed to help companies in identifying chemical substances that need to be registered. The product also screens products that are exempt from REACH registration.

The latest release of the REACH tool is designed to ease the burden of REACH compliance with sever major enhancements that address REACH and GHS requirements:

  • New safety data sheet format
  • REACH screening
  • REACH annex lists
  • GHS classification as per the Purple Book

“This new release offers flexibility to leverage investments in our existing centralized systems so we can accurately document raw materials and products in preparation for REACH substance pre-registration requirements,” says Lars Borch Pedersen, head of Group Material Compliance Solution at Hempel A/S – HSE Products, an Atrion customer.
