Freescale Called Auto Industry's Biggest Chip Supplier

Freescale Semiconductor said today that an industry analyst has proclaimed it the auto industry’s number one chip supplier. Strategy Analytics’ 2007 Automotive Semiconductor Vendor Market Share report said that Freescale captured 21.4% of the North American auto chip market last year. The reports also said that Freescale is the top supplier of powertrain microcontrollers with a 45% market share.
