Good point, and i never really thought of it this way. It's easy to point fingers at regulators, but they're only doing their jobs. He didn't mention it, but it occurred to me that it's also easy to point to the legal system and the costs of lawsuits as a problem, but that too misses the big picture. Somebody hires those lawyers and chases those big payouts - namely, those people who expect perfection and fail to realize that things can go wrong. Progress isn't built on perfection but on failure, and if we get sued for every failure, progress soon stops because we don't want to get sued anymore. The regulators and the lawyers are only responding to *our* expectations. Interesting.
