Maybe Wall-E was right. One day we'll all have this crap strapped to our heads and just live in floating lazy-boys.

My first introduction to VR occurred during a visit to Dave and Busters (D & Bs) in Atlanta. D&Bs is an arcade type business located on the north side just off I-75 with fairly good restaurant facilities.  It's "the" place to go due to the huge number of gaming devices available.  There were three (3) VR suites due to their tremendous popularity.  I tried one of the headsets and was absolutely amazed and the clarity and the graphics displayed.  That experience enticed me to look a little deeper.  I found the military has been using VR headsets and programs for training for some years now.  One caution--if you have problems with vertigo or inner-ear issues, this is probably not your cup of tea.  Another caution, you can spend hours with these devices due to the many programs available.

Excellent post Cabe.
