I don't love pictures much but this is something I would definitely want to try. Ann I read your post today on 3D priniting for lenses. I use glasses and with the new technology I would definitely want my 'mini-me' to at least have real glasses. Once they can make bigger reproductions maybe I can borrow the glasses once in a while.

You may be right, Ann. In the era of Facebook, drawing attention to yourself my not have any negative connotations.

Rob,

Thanks for the comment. At some point there must be justification in cost for material durability which is not clearly visible or explained with this 3D application/ service.

Rob, it would be embarrassing to you or I, but it seems that many younger people weren't trained to have the same sense of modesty.

Mydesign, we wrote about it but didn't call it 4D printing, because the name is silly. The 4th dimension is, of course, time: 3D printing is occurring over time during a self-assembly process:

Interesting comment, Ann. I could see it as a model for people to try on new looks. Otherwise, wouldn't be a tad embarrassing to have around?

"4D printing? It's very interesting , What is the other dimension that they are going to use?"

Pubudu, I don't have much idea about 4D printing, I had just read one article about it, that's all.

I can't imagine wanting one of me either, Chuck, but I know some people who would really go for this.

Good point, Ann. There must be a market here that I'm not seeing. I just can't imagine wanting a statue of myself on my desk.
