a.saji, good point: the plastics have to function and survive in the body but they must also not harm the body's functions and survival.

@Murray: Yes indeed and you cannot make mistakes or do any trial runs inside the human body. No errors basically.

Ann, I'll be curious to see the Medtronic presentation on stronger polymers in cardiac rhythm products. The inside of the human body can be a pretty caustic environment.
